PRESERVING the heritage

There are so many puzzle pieces that make the whole of us as a being. So many experiences, memories, traits, details that make us who we are.

Our heritage, our cultural background is a huge one. It makes us think in a certain way, it makes feel in a certain way, it makes us be in a certain way. It’s a big ingredient of what makes us so different to each other. In a beautiful way.

The family relics, if only they could speak. I’m sure we’re amazed by the stories they’d share. Good or...bad. They make us feel the energy the love stored in their threads and make us travel back in time and imagine or remember the faces of the people that have used them. They also are the physical evidence of our heritage. Something we can touch, see, cherish.

My boys are growing in this amazingly beautiful country that we now call home. It is a big part of who they are and who they’re becoming. But there’s also that part of them that’s coming from their heritage. I really hope they love and keep it alive.
